Alex`s winning menu was duck with celeriac puree, roast beetroot and apple sauce with a dessert of blackberry and lime Eton mess. Contrasting, Brendan’s menu was a butter nut and chilli soup with small wholemeal loaves followed by a main course of sticky lamb chops, pea and mint potatoes with glazed carrots.
Both will go though as Lochaber finalists to the District Final to be held early next year in the Glasgow area.
Past President Iain Johnstone said, “These competitions bring out the best in our young folk, who are a credit to themselves, the School and their families. We wish them well.”
Lochaber Rotary is currently welcoming entries to the Young Writer, Young Artist and Young Photographer competitions with entry details on this website. The themes for these are Peace, Sunrise and Sunset, and The Beauty of Architecture, respectively.
