As well as Faye Steel from Elliot Lake, Ontario, mentioned in an earlier post, on 4 September we enjoyed Rotarian visitors from BC too.
Deirdre and Brian o’Ruairc, President and member respectively of South Surrey Rotary Club in Vancouver were on holiday in the West Highlands so graced our meeting with their presence. En route from Skye, heading south, we were able to point them to Glen Etive, the one place in Scotland that is associated with Deirdre (of the Sorrows) and her lover Naoise. No sorrows this time though with Brian, judging by the photos the deeply Irish Canadians sent us from their visit to the Glen! We were pleased to meet them both. Beannachd agus slàinte dhuibh!
