Another highly successful Christmas Festival and Craft Fair

Following our well-established pattern, the 29th November saw the Nevis Centre filled with a couple of  thousand visitors, all enjoying the variety of crafts, food and fare on display.

Their arrival had followed the procession of Santa and his elves from Cameron Square, with the two winners of our colouring competition joining Santa for the journey!  A selection of the entries appears below.  Pipers and the Ben Nevis All Stars led the way.

Our traditional whisky malts raffle was expanded this year, to give the winner the choice of six bottles of malt or six Lochaber gins – quite a dilemma for the buyer of the winning ticket, drawn by President David, but the whisky was claimed swiftly!

The Buskers’ Corner was again well supported, concluding for the first time with the Lochaber Strathspey & Reel Society.

Thanks again are due to Ferguson Transport and Shipping, the Lochaber Times, Highland Council, Lochaber Housing Association Property Services, Police Scotland, BEAR Scotland and Robert Wilson.

The two day enterprise is a big effort by the Club members and helpers, all more than ably led by Rotarian Sheana Fraser to whom we extend our thanks.  Clearing up was the final job with the last word going to past-president Paul Brian; “Come on folks, I’m doing the work of three men here” which, with the evidence available, was difficult to deny….!
