We are pleased to say that the Young Artist competition has been re-introduced at Lochaber High School, resulting in many excellent submissions. We are very grateful to Lorna Finlayson for judging the entries.
Intermediate Winner:
Oliver Zal
An S2 pupil in Glencoe House, Oliver was quick to have a vision in mind when painting his competition entry. He wanted to capture a single cherry tree, in full spring blossom. Using bubble wrap for printing the blossom and different brushes sizes and dabbing techniques to create the bark of the trunk, Oliver knew exactly what he wanted to achieve.
Intermediate Runner-up:
Gabi Bakun
Another S2 pupil from Glencoe House, Gabi is a very keen artist. She regularly attends the Art Club and loves doing all sorts of artwork, from character design to drawing flowers, parks and gardens. Gabi’s competition entry captured birch trees in Autumn, with beautiful white tree trunks and golden leaves.
Senior Winner:
Lana Lev
Lana created her prize-winning artwork while achieving an A in National 5 Art & Design. Lana particularly enjoys drawing and painting and is skilled in crochet too. Lana is currently sitting her Highers and hopes to go on to study Film studies at university.
