Again, Lochaber Rotary will be offering some of the Rotary Youth Competitions to Lochaber young folk; Young Photographer, Young Artist, Young Writer and Young Musician.
The 2026/27 theme for the first three competitions above will be ‘Friendship’.
Each competition is handled slightly differently.
First, the Young Photographer and Young Artist will be arranged through your school, most likely by the Art Department. We will accept entries in the Intermediate and Senior sections, with a closing date of Friday 4 December 2026. You can see the full details and age eligibility in the information packs here:

Second, the Young Writer will be handled by the English Department in your school and we will accept entries in Junior, Intermediate and Senior sections, with a closing date of Sunday 31 January 2027.

Last, the Young Musician competition will be part of the Lochaber Music Festival which takes place in March.
The winners of all three competitions will go forward to the Rotary District 1320 heats.
Our young people have excelled in these competitions over the years and several have gone forward to achieve success at the Rotary District Final and beyond, in the UK and Ireland stage. District 1320 extends from Lochaber to cover the entire South of Scotland, including Edinburgh and the Lothians.
