President Simon installs President Flora McKee

President for 2023-24. Flora McKee received the chain of office from outgoing  President Simon Hardiman. Flora is only the third female president in the Club’s 73-year history.

Flora’s current responsibilities were also passed over to the incoming President-Elect, Malcolm MacRaild, at the Club’s weekly business lunch meeting in the Alexandra Hotel on 28 June. Local Police Commander Isla Campbell becomes Vice-President.

Outgoing President Simon said that his time had flown by and it was great to see the Club back to normal after the 2 years of online Covid meetings and, in presenting the chain to Flora added “It gives me great pleasure to promote you to President of Lochaber Rotary!”

Flora, who is Manager of Voluntary Action Lochaber, said, “Thank you all, for the privilege of chairing Rotary this year. I am just the figurehead – you are the Club – I’ll do my best to make sure that the incoming year is a successful and productive 12 months of community support and service to the great Lochaber public who continue to support our Club”. Members welcomed Flora with warm applause.
